MSX's Ghosts'n Goblins version 1.0 features are:
Complete conversion from Spectrum (but the bugs!).
Special character font like the one in Arcade and NES
Progress Map between stages (converted from Arcade).
Compatible with any MSX computer.
PSG musics (converted from CPC and ZX128's Ghouls'n Ghosts) when running on MSX2 or better computers (64KB VRAM).
Joystick support.
Palette specially designed when running on MSX2 or better computers, based on ZX Spectrum palette.
Centered screen on MSX2 or better computers.
It is a "file" version. That is: it will run from disk or hard disk.
Compatible with any MSX-DOS version (from 1.0 to 2.4).
"Full" speed (= Spectrum) when running on 7MHz (or faster) computers with frameskip enabled.
Static Colors mode so the game became playable at 3.57MHz or more (SELECT key during game).
Enable/Disable music (STOP key during game).
Enable/Disable frameskip (HOME key during game).
The minimum requirements for any MSX are 64Kbytes RAM, 16KBytes VRAM and DOS 1.x.
The recommended equipment is: MSX2 running at 7MHz (or more), 128Kbytes RAM, 64KBytes VRAM, DOS 2.x and HardDisk.
The optimum equipment is: MSX2 running at 20MHz+ with a fast VDP (OCM?), 128Kbytes RAM, 64KBytes VRAM, DOS 2.x and HardDisk.
I am thinking to add the following features:
None.
Improvements that will not be:
New graphic colorization.
The use of sprites on the main character.
